Shiny Specs

Have I ever shown you my spectacles? I found them at a local antique store back in January ($15 - booya!) and took them to my eye doctor to have my prescription lenses put in. The tech who did the repairs said that she think they are at least 60 years old... Sweet!

My favorite part is that the top part is silver and the bottom of the frames are brassy-gold, so they've got a pretty cool two-toned thing going on.

They remind me a little of another pair I've seen somewhere... Oh yes, Miss Monroe - those are very lovely glasses you have!

**Can't remember where I found this image of Marilyn - Ew, Jessie. C'mon.

Thanks, Gigi!

Krista - ever since I bought mine I have been seeing them in thrift and antique stores everywhere! Shouldn't be too hard to snag a pair for yourself. Good luck!

jessie -- i believe marilyn wears these in one of my favorite movies "how to marry a millionaire" -- her character doesn't want to wear her glasses while trying to pick up men (so she never knows if her date is handsome or not), but who knows why... they're supercute!

what a find!!! i love taking glasses to get my rx in them. i found some cute brown ones with a teal inner lining at anthropologies that are currently my faves, but i'd love a vintage pair! you look so cute!
