Portland, I love you.

I'm baaaack! Feels good to be home, but BOY did I love the great state of Oregon!

Here's a sneek peak of our fabulous trip, and I will post more pictures to come!

Sooo many gorgeous flowers, I wanted to bring them all home with me!

I'm running around trying to get caught up on work and life this week, but I have a few goodies for you this week and next, so stay tuned. :)

My Sweet Girl

I thought I'd share some of these fun pictures that G took of Sadie and I a few weekends ago. No real reason except that they make me happy. :)

(And yes, I'm wearing the same outfit that I had on in the shoe post from last week... these were taken on the same day.)

Just walking around the neighborhood and enjoying life together... Miss you, Little One! I'll be home soon!

To The Nines Fashion

If you haven't been by The Concrete Catwalk recently, you might have missed the new and shiny sponsor button in the sidebar!

To The Nines Fashion was started by local Kansas City gal, Kim Hinkle, and her line of "everyday tanks" are perfection. They are super-soft, come in lots of fun colors, and are pre-shrunk so that they won't change shape after you wash them (bonus)!

I'm happy to welcome To The Nines Fashion as a sponsor of TCC, and I wanted to make sure that I shared the link with my Lucky Stone readers, as well! MWAH!

Oxfords

I love new shoes. Did you know that? Of course you did.

Today, it is especially fitting that I post these new shoes that I ordered on Etsy, because they came all the way from Portland! And do you know what I'm doing this afternoon? Taking those shoes (and many others) and flying all the way to Portland to go to a wedding and visit one of my best friends in the whole wide world!

They came in AMAZING condition from Time Bomb Vintage, who also happens to have a storefront and I am planning on going to visit this weekend! YAY!

I took the laces out, too. You likey?

I'm so excited to explore the city and to see lots and lots of friends! If you have any recommendations for places we should go or things we should do, feel free to chime in! We're staying at a really cool hotel on Burnside and I'm sure I'll be posting about it when we get back!

MWAH! Off we go!

Changing Leaves

I know that yesterday was the first day of Fall, but I was still surprised to see these pretty yellow leaves on our sidewalk last weekend. My fave color combo... YES!!

Also making it feel like fall - a spicy chai latte and turning the heat on in the car this morning... it really is my favorite season, but when I thought of scraping ice off of our windshield in just a few months, it made me wish it could be summer just a little bit longer.

Squirrely Love

A busy week of work caught up with me today and I'm just now getting a chance to post! G and I are off to grab some take-out for dinner so that we can veg out in front of the TV and watch all of the prime time Thursday shows that we missed last night.

Tomorrow morning I'm doing the KC Zoo Run with a bunch of friends from work, so I need to get my REST!

Have a lovely weekend, and I'll see you Monday! (Hopefully with fun outfit photos featuring my new TUTU!!!!!!!)

The Greatest Show on Earth

Well, ok. I didn't see the actual show... YET! But, I did see a little mini sneak peak of some of the circus animals yesterday, and I barely had to leave my desk!!!

They got off of those trains at Union Station which is right behind our office

Holding tails and trunks, they marched right down our street

Off to the Sprint Center they go!

Pretty horses, too. :)

It's not everyday a line of elephants and horses march right by your office!
We have a pretty busy week/weekend coming up, but I hope we get a chance to go see them perform!

Giddy-up, Cowgirl

New boots! New boots!

I found these beauties on Etsy and once I made sure they were my size, I snatched them RIGHT UP! I had been looking for the perfect pair of cowboy boots, and these were totally the ones.

A perfect shade of brown, and just the right amount of wear

Here's a shot of what I wore them with... re-worked vintage dress, vintage woven purse, and hey! the belt is vintage, too! I'm a big proponent of mixing the old in with the new, but I'm pretty sure this is the first time that an entire look of mine has been only vintage!

One of my absolute besties

Can't post this picture without noting the cutie at my side... Joanna is rocking an oversized clutch, wide-legged linen pants, and an AMAZING new pixie-ish haircut. Adorbs.

KC Loft on Design*Sponge

I LOOVE it when local talent gets featured on a national blog or publication, and seeing Jamie and Rob's River Market loft on Design*Sponge this morning put a HUGE smile on my face!

They live in a gorgeous loft converted from a former taxi cab garage (um, COOL!), and have furnished the space with an impressive collection of mid-century-modern pieces.
From the real tumbleweed-chandelier to the chalkboard headboard... it's obvious that they know how to incorporate their unique style throughout every bit of their home.

Marsha Tosk

I love it when artists try to sneak a little bit of humor into their work... if it gets a giggle out of me, then it generally gets my stamp of approval, and these new pieces by the award-winning Marsha Tosk are no exception!

My Fave - Pig in a Blanket

Hot Dog

Holy Cow

Bagels + Locks - Ohmygoshyum... I'm starving

Extra points for the plays on words - I'll never get over a good pun!
Not only do these whimsical sculptures bring a smile to my face, but five percent of the proceeds from each piece goes to Partners in Health, a non-profit organization that serves the world's poor and provides health care to those in need.
Well done, Marsha! Love your work!!!

Happy Friday!

Happy Friday, my dears! This week has seemed long (even without a Monday) and I can't wait for a nice little break.

Last night's KC Blogger's Meetup was a BLAST, and I'm so glad that we finally got something like that together. Hopefully next time we can expand the group, because I just know there are plenty of bloggers here, and I just can't wait to meet more!

Here are some things that I am looking forward to this weekend:

- Making Ravioli and Squash with Homemade Pesto tonight for dindin - I think we'll try and eat on the balcony since I'm trying to soak up every last second of the summer.

- Date night with G - We're walking to the Westport Art Fair with our little Sadie-girl.

- Searching for street style - Scouting out some new spots this weekend, and trying to figure out a game plan for when the weather gets crummy!

- Altering TEN new vintage dresses that I scooped up while thrifting last week... don't worry, I will post them here when I am done!
- Celebrating a dear friend's birthday with dinner and cocktails and lots of laughs.

I hope you have a FAB weekend, and be sure to lay in the grass with a good book* if you get the chance!

*In reference to this month's 1000 Words - a project that I have followed from it's beginning and I just cannot get enough.

Brows

Why oh why can't my eyebrows look just like Camilla's?

I've had an issue with my own since I can remember, and used to get teased ruthlessly for having such thick dark brows with my naturally blonde hair (partly why I started dyeing it brown).

After years of overplucking, I'm thankful that they have filled out again, but I would give anything to have them look just like the ones below!

I know they're a little dramatic, but I LOVE high-impact looks, and I think she's got it down to a T.
Quite frankly, I'd take any part of Camilla's look - her hair, her brows, her style... if I could have the content of one celebrity's closet I'm 98% sure it would be hers.
If you could the entire wardrobe of someone besides yourself, whose would it be?

Popsicles

I love popsicles. Most days I have at least one, many days it's more.

When I'm feeling really kicky, I paint my fingernails to match.
:)
Hope you had a sticky-sweet Labor Day Weekend!
