Flirty and Fuerte

After seeing these on Always in Style (which can be found at Neiman Marcus, but also at Endless.com for $30 less, and as usual - FREE shipping)

And these on Sea of Shoes

Ann Demeulemeester Fall '08 Lace Up Boots

I have been reeeeeeeallllly wanting a pair of tall lace up boots with a bit of a Victorian edge mixed with some saucy rough-and-tough. Kind of outside my usual style realm, but I've been inspired by the way I've seen boots like these be styled and worn lately. I picture them over skinny jeans (of course) with a flowy, feminine top or with a longish floral skirt - a mixture of flirty and fuerte.

Since both are WAY out of my price limit (even for an extravagant gift for the upcoming B-day), I decided to go on a mission to find a more reasonably priced pair (story of my life, moving on...).

Piperlime doesn't really carry anything similar, so I dug through the eBay options and even some bargain type discount stores, to see if I could find any decent knock offs. Although I found two that would do (if I had a couple hundred extra big ones laying around), I still haven't come across a winner yet. Let's take a look...

Adrienne Button Tall Boot by Frye (It's brown, believe it or not.)

$397.95 on Endless.com

Iris Boot by Siren by Mark Nason
$539.95 at Nordstom.com

And then one more pair that is not really anything like the ones I'm looking for, but that I love nonetheless...

Deborah by Pink Studio
$114.95 at Nordstrom.com

I had fun searching, and during the process, realized that I could look at boots for hours and hours on end. Wouldn't that be a fun full-time job? I don't think I'll ever get sick of looking at shoes (especially boots!).

I hope you all have fabulous weekends and a lovely Friday! I am so excited to finally meet and hang out with my blog-buddy, Amanda at Sucker For Marketing (read about her own excitement here), and I can't wait to be back with lots of pictures and hopefully some primo vintage finds to share!
