Sari Chindi Mat

I just purchased this Sari Chindi Mat from Pottery Barn, (with the help of a very generous Anniversary pressie gift card - Thanks, Nelson Fam!) and I cannot WAIT for it's arrival!

5' x 8' Sari Chindi Mat (made from recycled saris) - SALE $79.99

I have been on the hunt for a rug to put in our bedroom ever since we moved in (almost a year ago), and I feel like this is one of the final touches that our room needs to be finished.

I once posted about the dullness about our bedroom here, and it has come a long way since then.

We rearranged the furniture last week, and it made a huge difference in the overall feel of the room. All that's left is placing the rug and hanging a print on the blank wall, and we're done-zies!

Stay tuned for the after pics!

Forever for Fluffy

Forever 21 now has a collection of clothing just for our furry little friends. My personal fave is this bright green and yellow peace sign tee.

He's smiling just thinking about it!

I'm not normally one for dressing your dog, but I think Remy would be the cutest pup on the block in this shirt!

Travels in France Part Four: Cassis

Well, I'm trying my hardest to get my France pictures posted (despite my crazy month of traveling), so that I can continue on with regular blogging, so here is my fourth (and favorite) installment...

The view on the way to the coastal town of Cassis

Me at the Marina!

Beautiful blue Mediterranean

Chillaxin on the beachy beach

More cute windows! (above and below)

Cassis was the most darling of all the towns we visited in France (check out the palace on top of the cliff in the background)

In front of the marina with our post-beach-ice-cream

Au revoir, Cassis! I hope to visit again soon!

I Have Returned

DANG, it's hard to get back into the swing of things.

Jozettey said it best.

I can already tell that I'm in for a rough week at work (more on that later), but I'm going to try my darndest with the posting... lucky for you I've got a very witty cat who types at least 45 wpm!

Beach Time!

I'm spending a nice long weekend with my family at our beach house in SD...

It looks like the waves are crashing right onto our grass patch, but it's because we are up on a cliff and beach is actually down below.

*couldn'tbehappiersigh*

... so, posting will be light until our return next week.

What the ????

Did anyone else see this?

I am confused and sad. Could they possibly justify euthanizing 30,000 wild mustangs?

Travels in France Part Trois: Avignon

Entering the city of Avignon. The entire city was originally built within a huge stone wall that goes all the way around, and it was really cool to see how most of the urban area has stayed within the originally city limits.

The Palace of the Popes

Courtyard in the Palace

Yours truly in front of the ancient aqueduct at the Pont du Gard

Tree lined streets on the way to St. Remy en Provence

I love the way they paint store signs and other pretty things, right onto the sides of buildings.

The rooftops of Avignon

I loved this little sign outside of a pastry shop near our hotel... how cute would it look hanging in a home?! (Preferably mine.)

Waiting for our train to Paris!

White Hot

Jacket by Sally Tseng

After you get over the initial shock of Charlize's beauty (GOSH, she is gorgeous), please take a gander at her super cool white tuxedo jacket.

Just the thought of such an item makes me think, "I could never wear that," but seen here it looks effortless, unique, and classic.

I'd love to see what she's wearing on the bottom half (especially the shoes), but I'd like to think you could pair this with a couple of different options. Dress it down with some stovepipe jeans and a bright pair of flats, or keep it classy with a black fitted tank dress and some black leather ankle booties. (Note: I really need to learn how to use Polyvore so that I can better illustrate my ensembles!) In any case, one of the things that makes the entire look is the fact that she's got the sleeves pushed up. Tres chic!

Alright, now I'm pretty sure I need one (well, a less expensive look-alike anyway), but the fashion world is already gearing up for fall! What do we think? Could this be a multi season piece? Or would it be best worn in the warmer summer months?

Project Runway is BACK

Last night was the premiere of Project Runway Season 5, did everyone watch?!

It's a little early to know how I feel about the contestants just yet, but I must say that I was a wee bit disappointed by their lack of creativity on their first challenge. They were given 30 minutes and a budget inside of a grocery store and told they could pick whatever they wanted to use as materials for their first challenge. More than HALF of the designers chose paper tablecloths for their material... uh.... boring? Yes.

Here are a few of the more inventive final products.

Lawn chairs and dodgeballs. Quite possibly my fave.

A few mop heads for the top and a paper tablecloth for the skirt. This looked WAY better on the runway.

Doilies, inflatable balls, and bouncy balls.

There were a few final products that turned out really well, but the first person to be sent home (Jerry) designed something that looked like a HazMat suit.

This one is made of a shower curtain. Now all she needs is a gas mask to cover up that scowl on her face.

Nuff said.

I am SO looking forward to next week so that I can figure out who my favorite designer is! To whet your appetite for the second episode, I will leave you with a quote from Tim Gunn, heard during scenes from next week.
"You look like a pterodactyl out of a gay Jurassic Park."
If that doesn't make you want to tune in, I don't know what will!

I've got one word for ya...

Scrumptious.

And here.

One for You, Three for Me!

That's right, folks! I got tagged!

Two of my fave bloggers, Jozette at Regardez Moi and Jennifer at The Most Awesomest Stuff Ever, passed the baton to lil' ol' me, and now it's my turn to fill out this survey from I *Heart* You. The theme is "threesomes" (heh heh) and that's just perf, because my favorite AND lucky number is three.

6. What three things can you not live without?
  • My teddy bear... I have had him since I was born and can count the number of nights I have slept without him! Thank GOD my husband doesn't think I'm a freak (well, he might, but he knows enough to keep his mouth shut).

  • Mascara & Tweezers... uh actually, my makeup bag (Shallow? Yes. Don't hate. It's for your own good.)
7. What would be your three wishes?

*Note: G just looked over my shoulder and said, "Better add backseat driving."

14. What are three things you are currently coveting?
  • A cream colored Mini Cooper with a black top
  • An Eames lounge chair and ottoman (Same as Jennifer, but it's true! I check on eBay and at antique stores all the time!) I already have a space picked out for it and everything!
  • Cartier Love Bracelet
15. What three bloggers would you like tag?

Travels in France Part Deux: The Town of Orange

Quick trip-recap round two!

On the way to Orange, we saw beautiful fields of sunflowers everywhere! I really wanted to get out and frolic around (or at least pick a few), but we had a full day ahead of us.

This is a field of lavendar in the distance... I loved seeing people just walking around the towns with a big bunch of it tied up in their baskets next to their daily baguette and a little box of fresh eggs.

The corner of a big crumbling theatre that we saw in Orange. I love how the bright white sky makes it look sort of heavenly.

The inside of the theatre was so ornate and in surprisingly good condition for being at least 1800 years old! They still use it for productions today!

This miniature little Arc du Triomphe was situated in a little park just on the outskirts of town. It was amazing to see such incredible structures pop up so often on our journeys around the country.

My Mom-in-law and I inspecting a lunch menu through the plants.

The sidewalk cafe where we finally ended up eating... just look at the colors of those buildings!
